Our Story

State Street Electric was launched with the mission to provide exceptional electrical services to our neighbors in Star, Eagle & Meridian. After many years in business-to-business sales and a move to Mammoth Lakes, our founder, Mike King, discovered a passion for electrical work in 2013. By 2016, he founded 395 Electric in Mammoth Lakes, CA, earning a 5-star Google rating with 173 reviews. In 2021, he relocated to the Treasure Valley with his family. Established in 2024, State Street Electric is guided by a commitment to quality craftsmanship and honest pricing. Mike ensures every project embodies the values and trust of a true neighbor. At State Street Electric, it’s not just about completing the job—it’s about fostering lasting relationships and delivering service you can rely on.

Outside of work, our founder enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters as well as snowboarding, camping, fishing, and hiking.

I had a project that needed a licensed electrician to not only do the work but also submit permits with the city of Star. The guys I had scheduled to do the job originally fell through and so I called State Street without knowing anything about them. Mike answered the phone after hours on a Tuesday night and was sympathetic to my problem, scheduling Kody to come out for a site visit the following Wednesday and had the job completed on the following Thursday! Not only were they fast but Kody was professional and recommended a couple of things the other guys had totally missed such as the requirement for a smoke detector in the room we were converting to an office, a detail that it turns out was necessary for the permit and saved me a lot of trouble and time later. They also quoted me a very competitive number for the work and didn't gouge me just because it was a rush job. I've been around the block having done three major renovations in the last four months and State Street Electric is truly a special company. These are my go-to guys, I highly recommend them!

Wore shoe covers inside the house, was careful to not make a mess and cleaned up 100% when he was done.  The quality of work was great - I peered in from time to time. About a week ago, State Street Electric installed fire alarms throughout the house--seamless installation, knowledgeable electrician.  This morning, one of the alarms started to "beep" with that loud high-pitched beep that means something is wrong.  Mike, the owner, came out right away and discovered that the "beep" was from a separate device--a nearby floor-level ozone detector that had failed. Mike removed that one and another down the hall, assured me that an ozone detector was already installed in the ceiling units, checked all the other smoke detector units, and gave everything a "thumbs up." This electrical service is the best I have ever encountered in my almost-80 years on the planet...knowledgeable electricians who truly stand behind their work--and quickly identify quirky issues too! I thank them--and so does my Australian Shepherd girl who was terrified by the repetitive blasts!!! ♥♥♥
