Mike and Kody were outstanding! I had a project that needed a licensed electrician to not only do the work but also submit permits with the city of Star. The guys I had scheduled to do the job originally fell through and so I called State Street without knowing anything about them. Mike answered the phone after hours on a Tuesday night and was sympathetic to my problem, scheduling Kody to come out for a site visit the following Wednesday and had the job completed on the following Thursday! Not only were they fast but Kody was professional and recommended a couple of things the other guys had totally missed such as the requirement for a smoke detector in the room we were converting to an office, a detail that it turns out was necessary for the permit and saved me a lot of trouble and time later. They also quoted me a very competitive number for the work and didn't gouge me just because it was a rush job. I've been around the block having done three major renovations in the last four months and State Street Electric is truly a special company. These are my go-to guys, I highly recommend them!

Exceptional service! Bear came out on time. Wore shoe covers inside the house, was careful to not make a mess and cleaned up 100% when he was done. The quality of work was great - I peered in from time to time. He installed outlets exactly where we wanted them and carefully explained the process and what he was going to do. The price was fantastic. I have a new electrician for life.

About a week ago, State Street Electric installed fire alarms throughout the house--seamless installation, knowledgeable electrician. This morning, one of the alarms started to "beep" with that loud high-pitched beep that means something is wrong. Mike, the owner, came out right away and discovered that the "beep" was from a separate device--a nearby floor-level ozone detector that had failed. Mike removed that one and another down the hall, assured me that an ozone detector was already installed in the ceiling units, checked all the other smoke detector units, and gave everything a "thumbs up." This electrical service is the best I have ever encountered in my almost-80 years on the planet...knowledgeable electricians who truly stand behind their work--and quickly identify quirky issues too! I thank them--and so does my Australian Shepherd girl who was terrified by the repetitive blasts!!! ♥♥♥

A good electrical repair should begin with understanding the problem—not simply replacing the first component that appears faulty. When you contact State Street Electric, you can explain what you are experiencing, when the problem started, and whether anything appears to make it better or worse. This information can help the electrician understand the situation before arriving.

During troubleshooting, the focus is on identifying the source of the problem and determining the appropriate repair. Depending on the issue, that may involve testing outlets, switches, circuits, breakers, electrical connections, or other components. Once the problem has been identified, you can discuss the available repair options and what needs to be done to restore safe and reliable electrical operation.

Electrical Repair for Homes Throughout Eagle, Idaho

Eagle is home to a mix of established neighborhoods, older properties, remodeled homes, and newer construction. That means homeowners can encounter very different electrical systems and challenges depending on the age and configuration of their property. A historic or older Eagle home may require troubleshooting for aging wiring, outlets, switches, or electrical components. A newer home may instead have concerns involving newer circuits, GFCI protection, lighting systems, smart devices, or changes made after the original construction.

Regardless of the home’s age, electrical troubleshooting should focus on the actual problem rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution. State Street Electric provides residential electrical repair for homeowners in Eagle, Star, Meridian, and surrounding Treasure Valley communities.

When Should You Call an Electrician?

Some electrical problems are inconvenient but relatively straightforward. Others can indicate a potentially dangerous condition.

Consider contacting a licensed electrician if you notice:

  • Burning smells coming from an outlet, switch, or electrical panel
  • Sparks from an outlet or electrical device
  • Discolored or scorched outlets
  • Warm electrical outlets or switches
  • Repeated circuit breaker trips
  • Frequent GFCI trips
  • Buzzing or crackling sounds
  • Flickering lights throughout the home
  • Electrical outlets that repeatedly stop working
  • A breaker that will not reset
  • Unexplained power loss in part of the home

If you see smoke, flames, or signs of an active electrical fire, leave the area and contact emergency services. Do not attempt to investigate a dangerous electrical condition yourself.
